Lake Hickory Escape — Attraction in North Carolina

Let me start by saying the staff and the special effects of the room are very good and bring a nice element to the experience. However I have done upwards of 30 room in my life and have never left one feeling as cheated as I did leaving the escape of the mummy on. I did not enjoy that there was not much critical thinking while doing the room due to the fact that they give you a journal that tells you how to solve almost all the puzzles. In my personal opinion the only thing that should have been in the journal was the hieroglyphics translation. I think the other clues could have been left out (especially the one about placing a skull. Iykyk. That just felt like the people vitiating the room thought unintelligent people would be doing them.) I would have enjoyed being able to just ask for the other clues that were in the book if they were needed. The room was meant to be their most difficult and we got out with over 20 minutes to spare. Booked a 2:30 room, arrived 15 min. Early. Waited until 2:40 to get told the rest of the people are running late and on their way. Guy kept checking the door and said they finally arrived. At this point we were not going to enjoy being in the room with people we waited on for way past our booking. We drove an hour and a half and made it on time , others can too. We requested our money back and left. The car in the parking lot when we left wasn't even the group of 4 we were waiting on. They still hadn't arrived. Out of respect of the other people in a group, If you're that late you should lose your spot rather then have the rest waiting. So we went to trapped and had a great experience and would go back there before attending any of lake hickory haunts attractions. Which is bad because I have been a fan for years but this was poor management...

Please make sure you do NOT do these rooms with a group of strangers. You will NOT get to play the game. Very upset with my experience because of that simply. The rooms were set up nicely, and I feel like I would have had a blast, but the 8 other people completely took over the experience. Very sad because this was meant to be for my birthday, and I left...
