Lake Loop Trailhead — Attraction in North Carolina

I’m at lost of words… this place is the perfect example of deforestation. I go to hikes to get lost in them and enjoy the sounds of nature. Every .3 miles I walked there’s a wide open split where commercial vehicles and construction crew drive. I heard whispers from birds chirping, and where’s the wildlife..?! This place was just sad to me. I hike a lot and I’ll definitely not be returning to this one. All you’ll get as sounds of construction vehicles and sights of logs and trees cut down. 2 stars for good trail maintenance and easy to find. Everything else…. Will not...

Really enjoyed this hike! A little shade in the beginning then mostly in the sun. We climbed over lots of borders, going up and down hill. We encountered one snake but it was not poisonous. Dogs are allowed on a leash and our dogs loved it. Cool escape...
