Where the road appeared that it may continue to the river was closed with a wire across it and MANY private property/no trespassing signs. It look like a future crime scene. There is no obvious way to get a kayak or canoe to the water . I recommend avoiding this place till the the county or city put a lot of work and...
Read moreGreat place to escape the city only 25 minutes from Uptown Charlotte. Hiking and Biking trails. River access is very nice to put canoes and kayaks in and out of river. Dam is just downstream, below McAdenville access, Portage across river on river left. Stay away from dam. Take out on river right just past interstate bridge is a great option instead of portaging. If you portage, next access is Goat Island Park...
