Terrible experience for what is suppose to be a county park.. This place is located at the end of a narrow residential road with a small sign and a small gravel parking area, There is no signage for trails, no information on how to access the river. Where the road appeared that it may continue to the river was closed with a wire across it and MANY private property/no trespassing signs. It look like a future crime scene. There is no obvious way to get a kayak or canoe to the water . I recommend avoiding this place till the the county or city put a lot of work and...

Great place to escape the city only 25 minutes from Uptown Charlotte. Hiking and Biking trails. River access is very nice to put canoes and kayaks in and out of river. It is a good hike to river, better put in than take out, as itvis downhill all the way to river. 1.5 mile downstream from park, there is McAdenville Dam. Dam is just downstream, below McAdenville access, Portage across river on river left. Stay away from dam. Take out on river right just past interstate bridge is a great option instead of portaging. If you portage, next access is Goat Island Park...

I cannot stand seeing reviews of people who cannot handle even...

Great easy little trail - I think if you do the whole figure 8 loop it comes out to about a mile total. Some people tend to forget that you have to have your dog on a leash though. Also there technically isn't a public bathroom, but there is a porta potty in the parking lot

Very quiet, and not too crowded. There's a construction site toilette in the parking lot, and picnic tables by the river. The walk to get to the river is beautiful and takes around 7 to 15 minutes, depending on how fast you walk.

I loved this park. Even though it's mostly trails and areas for fishing the nature is true. The trails aren't paved but well-kept and the rewarding view of the river and turtles was worth to reach.
