Foss Park & Beach was dedicated after Sen. George Edmund Foss (1900-1911) who secured the Great Lakes Naval Training Center here in Lake Bluff IL. This native sand beach area is left on its own to naturally grow with grasses & trees along its high water mark. Metal signs warning not to swim are placed every 50 feet.
