Good afternoon, everyone. I strongly do not recommend visiting this winery for several reasons.

First, when I called a few hours in advance and asked if we could come for a tour and tasting, I was told, “Yes, of course, come by — no reservations needed.” But when we arrived and asked for a tour of the production area, we were told that no one was available to do it and they came up with a bunch of different excuses for why it couldn’t be done. I was very disappointed because the main reason we chose this winery was precisely for the tour, not just the tasting.

Second, the wine tasting itself was very, very basic. The person who presented the wines didn’t explain anything about what we were tasting. On top of that, the tasting flight didn’t even indicate the order of the wines — first, second, third, or fourth — so as we tried them, we had no idea which wine was which. There was a total lack of staff engagement during the tasting process.

Third, the reality is that there are many wineries in the area. Don’t be misled by ratings or reviews that may be artificially inflated. People often choose this particular winery because of those reviews, but there are surely other wineries where you can get a proper tour and where the staff is much more involved and welcoming.

The only thing I heard from the person who greeted us was that “we’ve been in business for over 50 years.” That was the only “highlight” they managed to share — nothing about the wines, the history, or anything else typically shared during a winery visit.

I’ve visited wineries in various countries, including France (in Provence), and everywhere I’ve been, the staff was far more enthusiastic and shared plenty of stories...

updated 10/2023 last year we brought our little 6# Yorkie with us in her carry bag. She was welcomed with open arms. 2 weeks ago we walked in the door and were told we could not enter with our furkid, once again in her carry bag. She is 13.5 years old and doesn’t make a peep. Needless to say….we left and Mazza did not receive a purchase from us. Disappointing as our Yorkie was welcome and we enjoyed our visit last year!*

Loved this winery! It was the next to the last of a cruise through the various wineries in North East, PA.

I really enjoyed this winery as the samplings were an assortment that went well when tasting. Personally I decided to try the. Juices. Yes, juices! Oh my! How good each of them were. There were 4. Of course I liked the first a sparkling white. When we decided to buy it, there was one left…in the basement cooler. Our server was amazing. She went down and brought that last bottle up for me! I am so excited to enjoy it at home.

I did share the samples of the wines with my husband that he selected. After tasting so many wines that day, these wines stood up. They all were a mellow taste. Even those that are typically bold and strong flavored. I even enjoyed the Port!

We had a third guest with us…our6# 12 year old Yorkie. She was so good and everyone in the sampling room seemed to enjoy visiting with our little old lady. Our server made us all feel so welcome!

We will definitely return on our next wine cruise!

Only thing I didn’t get her name…our server! Sheesh! She is sweet and talkative and just came back...

We went to Christmas village this year in Philly where they had Mazza wine which was super awesome on a cold day and always nice supporting local PA businesses.

We got 2 refills ($8 each) and 1 bottle ($20) in one transaction. Then a 2nd transaction, 4 bottles in the gift pack ($70). I asked if I could have a receipt after both transactions and the staff member just played it off saying they’ll get texted to me. He wouldn’t even flip the screen to show us our total. Whatever, took his word for it.

After seeing the transactions later on our credit card and doing a little math, we realized the staff member tipped 15% on BOTH transactions. I’m all for tipping especially for alcohol related services, but I felt like I got robbed for not being able to make that decision myself. And why are you tipping yourselves 15% for me buying 4 bottles to go????

Just felt like I was lied to, and I should’ve trusted my gut when the guy wouldn’t show me the screen or produce some sort of receipt for my transactions (not even a text receipt through...

Rather impressive to see the next generation of the Mazza family help grow with the times and add beer and spirits to their extensive list of products. What impresses me more is the absolute desire to source locally, and put out little to no waste in the process. They seem to be very passionate, inventive and determined to keep with the times by tasting, making and supplying new creations. All while making sure quality is at the forefront of their daily operations. It was inspiring to see generations working along side one another to create successful innovations. Each person on the Mazza team are passionate about the business, products and community they operate in. We had so much fun taste testing, my personal favorite was their Ice Wine!

Stopped for wine tasting, did not participate in a tour. I had a custom flight (Merlot, Cab Franc, Bare Bones Red and Appassionato) and husband had a glass of the Bare Bones Moscato. Appreciated that the Moscato was not overly sweet. Could take or leave the Bare Bones Red, the Merlot was smooth with berries. Cabernet Franc had some warm spice, dark cherry, a hint of oak. The Appassionato was delightful, made from natural dried grapes it was full bodied and jammy but not sweet - price reflects the hands on approach to this wine. Amy was delightful, knowledgeable and handled multiple (5) tables with ease (she was the only one working while we were there.
