Cook's Landing Park — Attraction in North Little Rock

For those that do and do not know the Little Rock area, this is a nice park. The park is at the base of the Big Dam Bridge in North Little Rock. Next to it on the north side of the Arkansas River is another park. I refer to a different and much smaller park than Burns Park. Since the Arkansas River is near historic levels when I originally wrote this, make sure the park is open if the water level rose much. Cook’s Landing Park does close. This is a popular park for a number of reasons. It has parking and is on the Arkansas River Trail. A walker, jogger, runner, and bicyclist can take this paved trail at whatever speed is chosen. Since the park is at the base of the Big Dam Bridge, some might walk across and back as a workout. The park is close to Burns Park. Walking there is a nice workout for others. A men's and women's room exists in the park. Remember that in Arkansas, the temperature drops below freezing. Due to that, the park might not have running water. If that is the case, Porta Pottey might be your only use. That means no drinking water. Be prepared. If you play Pokemon GO, keep reading. If you do not, I let you decide. We loved this place for a walk with our baby and dog, but unfortunately our vehicle was broken into while we were walking around. After looking around, it's apparent that this happens often based on the amount of auto glass in the parking lot. The officer who came out to give us an incident report agreed that this happens often in this area. Be careful. This ended up being an expensive park visit for us. Probably won't be back.
