Very disappointed!! This is a one mile loop of mostly dead trees, brush and plants, some of them laying in the paths where someone could easily trip on them and fall. The worst part was NO parking except at Ocean BL, a good 20 minute walk from the preserve, which added another hour of parking fees to our bill, a total of $8.45 for 2 hours. There are three small parking areas close to the preserve and the boat dock, all with "parking for trailers only" signs. We called the phone number on the parking sign and he said the only place to park without a trailer was all the way at Ocean BL! And, by the time we passed the trailer parking area on our way to the preserve, there were numerous cars, even a golf cart parked there and no one was monitoring it! We tried to call the parking phone number afterwards to voice a complaint and no one answered...good luck if you are there with a problem and no one answers. We will NEVER be back and will most definitely NOT reccommend it to anyone!! Most definitely NOT worth your time or money. The MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet is much nicer and provides nearby parking, most of...

This is a beautiful, serene preserve with walkways, paths and views of the intercoastal Waterway. Walking through the Marsh is truly a wonderful experience in nature. One can see the inlet waves crashing from the ocean to the Waterway during the short hike. Plus, Gorgeous sunsets! One word of caution; however. Yesterday, we experienced more of nature than we expected. After watching the beautiful sunset, we started walking back and found that much of the walking path back to the entrance of the preserve was submerged due to the rising waters from the Waterway. We had to wade back in up to 2 feet of water in most places. It was a little nerve-wracking since we did not know how much further the water would rise by the time we got back to higher ground. Luckily, all went well, and we made it back safely. However, I would suggest that the Park officials post warning signs so that visitors will know that the possibility exists. In any case, it was really a treat. Thank you for maintaining the park condition and...

A very nice peaceful nature preserve. Not very big, but makes for a satifying walk in the salt marshes. Parking is a few short blocks away by the boat ramp. Look for the sign near the boat ramp.

The trails are a combination of dirt walking paths and boardwalks. The dirt paths at the salt marshes are pocked with the holes of fiddler crabs that pop out and dash back in if they see you. Fun! Realize that those holes are your clue that you are in the intertidal areas that will be covered in water at some high tides or storm tides...so plan your visit to avoid getting stuck and having to walk in the water to get back to the entrance. When I went the tides had been dropping and those low points were still wet...but the soil is pretty solid so aside from getting the soles of your shoes wet you won't probably find yourself getting...

I'm so lucky to live near a place like this! off-season, I have the place to myself, it's so peaceful. My family and I are volunteering with the City of North Myrtle Beach to build a living shoreline in this nature preserve. More on that to come! #nature #naturepreserve #northmyrtlebeach #cherrygrove #gooutside #naturewalk #southcarolina #estuary #birdwatching

Free public access nature preserve featuring short trails and boardwalks. The walk takes one along the brackish marsh and inlet waterways where oysters find home on the muddy floor, while herons carefully search for food. Placards have been posted throughout the island to inform passerbys of the typical floura and fauna found in this unique biome. Pleasant experience. Parking is a block away in a municipal lot.
