I'm sure this may have once been a great park, but it is currently just a skeleton of what it once was. This is the first time I've been to this park in a few years, but it's clearly a ghost of what it once was before a hurricane (Florence?). I'm giving it 3 stars because the pirate ship playground is still good. It's in great condition, and it saves the park's entertainment value for kids. There is also a covered area with a few picnic tables and a dock with a gazebo. We didn't walk the small trail loop, but it looked clear to me.

Warning! Be sure to look out for a new sign at entrance where people usually park. We haven't been here since the new paid parking law changed to all year apparently.. Stopped by for a quick visit in February 2022 to walk the beach with husband, was here 20 mins and received a 25$ parking violation that goes up to 75$ if you don't pay it with in 15 days! It's my own fault for not thinking to look, but was going off past years of being here for winter and not having to pay for parking..

PAID PARKING ONLY!!! I learned the hard way that you must pay for parking year round at this little lot unless you are a North Topsail resident. The large beach parking lot across the street is free parking. The park itself is fine - nothing to write home about. It has four big kid swings, two baby swings, and one climbing apparatus with slides. The best part about it is that it is gated, so that is helpful if you have little ones. My kids prefer Soundside park in Surf City.

This is a dog friendly beach and it is a great location. It has ample parking and is about 30 minutes from Jacksonville. It's not a far walk from the water if you park on the southern most lot. The northern lots are not suitable for those with mobility issues of those carrying ton of heavy loads to the beach. The northern lots require you to take a step staircase up, over, and down the sand dunes. The stair way does provide beach access and gives a great view of the area. I have seen people set up in the shade provided by the stair ways. Dogs must be kept on a leash during peak months. The beach has patrols on quads that will come ask you to keep your dog on it's leash. There's tons of shells to find in the area. Lots of agates and quartz. This place is excellent for beach combing. The water is warm and waves are good for boogie boarding. Highly recommend water shoes as the shallower parts of the water are...

MST Directional Signs installed today on the MST pole at MM 14 aka NTB Town Park in the Beach Access Parking Lot..

The Directional Pole was very needed for Hikers, Joggers, Horseback Riders, Walkers, etc to know where to enter / exit the beach.

Hikers have walked from the other Topsail Beach access at Surf City Pier and had no way to know where to exit after their 9 mile trek.

Huge thank you to NTB Mayor Fred Burnes, OC Parks and Recreation, JOEMC and to the AMAZING, DEDICATED MST VOLUNTEERS that finally made it happen.

Tim & Cathy Supple (MST 15B Trail Team Leaders, Trail Angels, etc) and to Mike & Diane O'Neill, Merv & Dawne Reedy, Nickolas Worth and family for designing, fabricating and installing the beautiful, new NTB...

The kids enjoyed the fenced in playground. While we were there, a few people were playing on the basketball court nearby. There is a covered picnic table beside the basketball court. There is also a short walking trail through a wooded area. (This trail is for walking only, no bikes.) One trail leads to a small pier. On the other side of the picnic area is a walking path to a gazebo over the water. Parking right next to the park is paid parking. However, there is a free parking lot right across the street. You can also start a biking/walking trail here. The trail is paved. The trail runs beside the road but is not on the road itself. The trail ends at the town hall, at the bottom...
