The Carmelite Shrine is a really fantastic destination to visit and reflect. Be sure to walk the outdoors path and visit the various stations of the cross and also enter the architecturally magnificent grottos which are are truly a sight to behold. Read moreThe cave grotto and grounds are so peaceful. They have English and Polish masses and for a tiny gift shop, they have a lot of options. The annual Polish 2 day walk from Chicago stops here and all the pilgrims sleep here for the night before continuing on to the next day. Some don't sleep and just pray in front of/with Jesus all night. It's wonderful and also close to the Shrine of Christ Passion.
