Bennett Arboretum — Attraction in Northville Charter Township

If you just drive thru Hines Park you miss some of the gems like Bennett Arboretum. I may not understand the whole layout but I think it's just three main stands of trees separated by rolling grassy hills: pines, oaks, and European beeches, all in maybe a 1/2 mile stretch. There are mature and beautiful trees in each stand. The beech trees look almost human the way their smooth bark wrinkles into knobby folds. Near the pine stand you're atop a hill with quite a view and they've installed large pipes that you can bang with an attached mallet to send booming chimes into the landscape. There are a couple miles of nice wooded trails north of the trees. You're not going to probably spend hours here, but like go to Custard Time on 7-mile and then walk or drive over to the Arboretum and it would make a nice...
