This is a municipal courses, so you get what you pay for. With that, for resident fee it's not bad. The good: Most of the tee boxes are alright, grass with some rough spots. Some of the tee boxes are sandy, but it's a dry area where the course is at. The fairways are mostly grass, there are a few with some bare spots but not too bad. The sand traps have sand, but some don't have a lot. The greens are alright, grass and the balls roll nice. The bad: Some tee boxes are sandy with little grass. Some bare spots on some of the fairways. The course can get a little dry, ball may roll on the fairways (good thing). Greens can be a little firm so the ball rolls out a bit, makes it challenging. There are a few holes with some sharp dog legs and only two par 3's with water. Most holes have thick trees and bushes on either side of the fairway, so hit it straight ... not like me. It can get a bit crowded, pace of play can be a little slow at times.

Visitor from Korea and spent $89 w/cart. Visited twice during my Hawaii stay with my wife. At the second visit, the gentleman in office asked me a 'driver's license' when checking in. I am an airline pilot so I played not only the USA but over the world. It was the first time I was asked 'driver's license' to drive a 'Golf Cart'. I left my canon range finder at the cart and I knew it when I arrived hotel. I called to office but they don't have it. It was hangin on the roof of the cart and they can't miss it. I know it was my fault that I left it but still I am very sorry about it.

Showed up for 8:52 tee time, teed of around 9:15. Every shot was a 5+ min wait, absolutely ridiculous for a tee time 2 hrs after opening. Left after 9 holes at 2:50 mins. Oh the starter straight up A-hole, and one other item. When I turned the cart in there was about 10 carts at hole 1 waiting tee off. Clearly nobody knows how to run a golf course here. Back to the ala wai where these folks know how to operate a course.

One of six municipal golf courses on Oahu, Ewa Villages GC is located in the historic area of Ewa. The course is usually well maintained. The greens roll true and the fairways mown regularly and free of nasty weeds like on some other munis.

There is no driving range here and the practice area is really just a small putting green. If you want to chip, you can do that behind the first tee box.

The course layout is interesting but fair, fun but not tough. It has enough to test your skills but not so much that you'll be frustrated. Fairways are rather wide and greens are generously sized.

Ewa Villages GC is always a safe option during the wet season as it's on the dryer leeward side.

Don't expect to relax and unwind after the round as the concession area is very rudimentary. I would plan to drive to a nearby location to enjoy...

I gave you three stars basically because it’s really not the best municipal golf course. I think Ted 🎾 Malena has better greens and better Fairway Maintenance. But overall of villages does have a higher difficulty due to the narrow fairways rough fairways, but their greens are in better shape than some private golf courses. For a municipal golf course I think Ewa village deserves a three star maybe 3.5 star. The wait is very short. Always good to just walk on with no tee time. However, there is no restaurant at the golf course and the only beverages are from a dispenser so I would bring my own drinks and food. But other than that overall the courses fair but nothing to be extremely excited...
