This stunning banyan tree is not just a natural wonder—it’s also a slice of movie history! Known for its appearance in films like Pirates of the Caribbean, the tree’s massive roots and sprawling canopy create a dramatic, almost otherworldly atmosphere.

It’s a great quick stop if you’re exploring the area and especially fun for movie fans. The tree is enormous and majestic, with twisting roots and branches that make for fantastic photo ops. It’s easy to imagine why filmmakers chose it as a backdrop.

There’s no big sign or fanfare, so it still feels like a hidden gem—peaceful, shaded, and steeped in both natural beauty and cinematic charm. Definitely worth a visit if...

It's one of the three Banyan trees on the island. The other two are down at the Honolulu Zoo and the Surfrider hotel in Waikiki. Apparently some movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and Shoes like Lost have filmed scenes here. Pretty cool to look at!

How can you just give 2 stars to a natural place? What? Are you gonna argue about how the trees were dropping their leaves and how there were some everywhere? Seriously... This place is magical, period.

We got to see the Banyan tree when we went on the horseback ride from The Stables and when we went on the Shaka Kayak in Kawela Bay yo see the turtles! Both were fun and I recommend them 10/10!
