Dream Weddings by Steve — Attraction in Oʻahu

I posted this review on Yelp, but I’m also posting it here for the Google-ers of the world. Our Hawaii wedding really was a dream! I was a bit worried about working with someone I'd never met from so far away to arrange such an important event, but it turned out that Steve is an awesome wedding planner in addition to his photography skills! We wanted a simple elopement ceremony for just the 2 of us, but only had a few weeks to plan for a July wedding, and Steve made it perfect. He helped us revise the plan a few times, was always quick to respond to my questions, and on the day of, he took care of everything. The only thing we had to do was get the license and then show up in our wedding attire. I was a bit self-conscious as I don’t wear much makeup and I was worried about looking overly made up, but when I saw the photos, I was both relieved and delighted. The photos are exactly what I’d hoped for - big skies, beautiful shots, showing just how happy we are. It was raining before the ceremony, and overcast at the beginning, and Steve wanted to get that perfect sunset shot for us, so he stuck around longer than planned after the ceremony to see if the sun would come out, and it paid off! People keep raving about the photos - one colleague actually said they were the most beautiful wedding photos she’d ever seen. I don't usually post reviews because services are so subjective and because I tend to be a perfectionist, but I highly recommend Steve to plan everything and produce the most beautiful photo package for your most important day. Just wanted to share that Steve is an amazing coordinator!! He helped us organize our minister and leis and everything was perfect. We literally did a 10-minute rehearsal with the bridal party, flower girls and ring bearer just before the ceremony, and the ceremony went so smoothly. He helped out with our ceremony playlist and all I had to do was tell him the order of the songs and when he would need to play them. The officiant, Kahu Lawrence Kidder, was so loving and he gave the ceremony such a personal touch and it just made everything so intimate and beautiful.

Brides, if you’re anxious about planning a destination wedding from the mainland and you’re working with Steve, you don’t have to worry about a thing. He is such a pro at what he does and he will make the planning process so easy for you. He is affordable and sets realistic expectations for the day, and he really delivers what he promises. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the ceremony was and we really do owe a big part of that to Steve and his team.

Steve made our wedding day truly perfect; choosing Dream Weddings Hawaii was the best decision we made. My husband and I spent a good deal of time finding our perfect location, but when it came to finding a wedding planner, it seemed as though the typical planners didn't want to go anywhere outside of their set locations. Steve was more than happy to help us book the location, and kept in communication with us every step of the way. Steve and his officiant, Lawrence, understood that we are not religious, and we have deep respect and admiration for the Hawaiian wedding traditions and culture. The ceremony was perfect! It was what we had envisioned and so much more. Steve's photos came out fabulous, capturing both the beauty of the surroundings and emotions of the day. When we come back for our anniversary trip, we will be calling Steve to take our photos. Thank you again, Steve and Lawrence, for giving me the perfect wedding i've always dreamed of.
