Decent gym but they really should allow exercising in uniform for people who want to get a quick workout in during their lunch break. There's a planet smoothie inside which is really nice but the nutrition information they have there is different from the official nutrition facts provided on the planet smoothie website so I'm not sure which one is correct. Also I don't know who's idea it was to have only 2 squat racks in the whole gym, but it was a bad one.
--Update-- It's been a while since I've written this review and I've decided to dock one star from my original review. After a few months of using the gym I've come to the conclusion that it's incredibly frustrating to properly wipe down equipment after using them due to the gyms refusal to invest in proper gym wipes. They have these paper towel stations loaded up with cheap, flat, dry, non-textured paper towels with absolutely terrible liquid absorption and some spray bottles with liquid sanitizer in them. The cheap paper towels simply cant hold enough liquid to properly wipe down even a small seat on a machine. I cannot stress enough how absolutely...

One day I went to lift and after waiting over 30 minutes for a machine when I finally got one it didn't work. There was no space for free weights and a line for the squat rack. I was so frustrated that I went straight to the bike, thinking those would work, but instead I tried OVER THREE BIKES before I found one that had a working screen, working adjustable seat, and that didn't wobble side to side when peddling. The best thing about the gym is the large space available for body weight and plyometric exercises. However, their random class schedule limits the times when you can use it since you can't be there if a class is in session. Even if there is only ONE PERSON taking the class (which has happened before) they won't even let you do sit ups on the floor in the far corner of the room. I guess you get what you pay for, considering this is...
Read moreThe new 24-hour access is fantastic, and you can now access the entirety of the gym, including restrooms and class floor. For the reviewer who takes issue with uniform policies, note that this is a military gym, so if you want to wear cut-off t-shirts, go to town gyms. The front stairs have been repaired. Yes, one of the rules is to not bring in bags, and that is delegated by the CO so that shouldn't go against rating this gym. It's quaint, has wonderful staff, and everything you need to get a great workout in (lots of DBs), and enough benches. We tend to be spoiled in the US with our gyms (I've paid for pricy European gyms that wish they could be half as good), and I think we forget sometimes what a privilege it is to gave FREE access to these services.
I appreciate Hickam...
