Laenani Park is a small neighborhood park about the size of a football field in the residential community of Kahaluu on the eastern side of O'ahu and has a perfect view for sunrises. So the three days that my wife and I were staying at Paradise Bay Resort right up the road, we got up early to photograph the sunrises. After having a conversation with one of the local residents and seeing he was flying a drone near Kualoa Point at "Mokoli'i" Island or "Chinamanscap" which is over three and a half miles away along the coast. (You can see it on the left side in some of the pictures I shot). He told us about some of the other sites in the area and showed us some of the images he just shot (I should have brought my drone)!
Another morning we had a conversation with another resident and she told us about the turtles that come into the bay and that the water is only about knee deep for a few hundred feet out in the bay.
