Stopped by this park after Pu’u O Hulu hike since it was the closest public rest room. We thought it would be a place to hang out and enjoy the beach. Not a great place for families. Within minutes of arriving we observed 2 “deals” in parking lot. There is a homeless camp visible from the park area. There were a couple of people who appeared homeless walking around doing weird things. We tried to mind our own business. As time when on it got worse. Went to change in the wash house but there were people sleeping in the bathroom. One individual, who appeared to be a large female, keep going into both the male and female bathrooms to hang out with the people sleeping in the wash house. She did this repeatedly. Eventual 5-8 people starting hanging around the wash house and front parking area as if they were waiting for “something”, they were trying to be inconspicuous…but the clearly had no purpose. We felt uncomfortable the whole time we were there and decided to leave early. One previous comment said it best, “Be aware of your...

I always enjoy Ma’Ili Beach park. There is always parking. I’ve never had a problem finding an empty picnic table to sit at to watch a sunset. Rest rooms are normally passable as to what is expected at a public beach-just bring your own supplies. Outdoor shower has always worked. 76 station across the street is a good place to grab a soft drink.

It was awesome , anytime spent with the family is always a + in my books... that's pictures worth a million words because the stories when they look at that pictures in the future will go on long after I'm gone and that's memories that you all have to share with your kids and their kids and so on you could say those were the good old days............
