I feel this is a very underrated hiking trail. It can be steep and very rocky. However, the views and lookout points on the hike are so gorgeous! The mountain side and the ocean together were very breathtaking. I would say kids and elders should not attempt this trail due to the many dangers that are present on the hike. My advice is to be cautious when hiking up due to the rocky terrain and the many places where you can potentially fall if not careful. Bring some water and a small towel with you as it can be very hot and sweaty as you go up. Also, bring some sunscreen too to protect the skin from the sunlight. Please wear covered shoes as most of the trail is filled with rocks. I also love the graffiti art on the lookout points. Makes it very colorful. Overall, I really recommend this...
Read moreGreat hike for families with children 10+ (maybe younger if the kids are outdoorsy). No shade on this hike until you reach the bunkers up top. Initially, it's somewhat incline & rocky steps for the first half of the hike & a bit hard. After it's straight slight incline for til the top. There are 3 bunkers to go to once you reach the top. The pink one is what this place is known for recognizing breast cancer awareness.
There's a beautiful view that spands the ocean in front of you and the land/mountains behind you. If youre lucky, you'll spot of group of goats trailing the mountains. Be sure to bring water, wear sunscreen, & shoes with some grip. I recommend going early in the morning, as it will be cooler since there is no shade...
Read morePros: Wonderful views, able to be done by inexperienced hikers (myself and husband), free parking on side of road. Took us about 50 minutes to reach the peak including frequent breaks.
Cons: lots of loose rocks (I slid/fell on the way down). It is uphill the whole way. Going in the afternoon/midday provides little to no shade.
Tips: bring water. wear sunscreen. I would STRONGLY advise against the elderly doing this unless they're experienced as there are a lot of loose large rocks and sandy areas. Wear closed toed shoes if possible (my husband chose sandals and was actually okay but did get very sandy). It is not too busy on...
