Mikey Redd Surf School North Shore, Oahu — Attraction in Oʻahu

Amazing experience canoe surfing with Mikey! 🛶🌊🏄‍♀️🏄‍♂️🏄🏾Truly embodies the definition of “Aloha” spirit! He is an expert waterman, super knowledgeable about all things surf and ocean and SO so professional. Most importantly we felt exceptionally safe at all times during the canoe surf. The canoe experience is unlike anything we have ever done before! So stoked about it 🤟🤟🏄‍♀️🏄‍♀️ He and Tama (assisting during the experience) were both so friendly and welcoming during the canoe surf too! Mikey explained so much about the ocean, safety, Hawaiian history, culture and values. He is a lifelong local to the islands so his experience is second to none. He also pointed out whale breeches in between surfing waves.

We ran into Mikey randomly while surfing at a different spot, he gave us a few surf tips and we knew right away we wanted to learn from this guy. So kind, friendly, and genuine on the waves, he really stood out to us. He is also a super humble professional big wave surfer. He shows in his experience and attention to detail. He were blown away a pro would just start up a conversation with us for fun. Very aloha!!!

This was one of our best experiences we had in Hawaii by far, can’t recommend Mikey and his team enough! We will definitely take surf lessons and another canoe experience with Mikey next time we visit the island! We even got cool pics from our experience!

I had the BEST surf lesson with Mikey Redd!

Even though I was only one person who booked a group lesson, he accommodated me and I basically got a private lesson! I've been trying to book with a lot of surf shops who told me that I have to be a group of at least two people, that they can't even fit me in with another group. I was so happy when I found Mikey.

Mikey was extremely patient and supportive of me and my anxiety and had me up and surfing in no time! He was extremely patient and listened to all my concerns. Even though everyone knows Mikey Redd the pipeline guy and how passionate he is about surfing, you could really tell through his actions. He made sure to teach me the ways of the waves, proper etiquette, and how to be a good steward of the sport. He also gave tips, tricks, and etiquette corrections to other people out there also trying to learn how to surf, which I thought was really kind and shows how much he wants everyone to love surfing and succeed.

Prior to the lesson, he was very communicative over e-mail and text message, confirming our lesson, letting me know how conditions would be, where to go, when to be there, and how to find him once I arrived.

I am a professional ballerina with the New York City Ballet, and I first met Mikey in 2019. I was introduced to him by a former colleague of mine who was living in Hawaii at the time. I was a total beginner and working with him was a dream. I felt very safe in the ocean with him and by then end of our first session I could stand up and surf small waves. Mikey is a true professional and very good at surfing himself (he is a pro surfer) and teaching/coaching. He works well with all ages and abilities and is a very giving and caring soul. His sessions are challenging and productive and result oriented. Additionally, What I learn from him are life lessons as well.

I'm still intouch with Mikey and just finished a few days of lessons with him after taking a few years off from surfing.

I was able to improve very quickly this time and surfed more challenging waves (even at the sacred spot sunset beach!) and I over came some more fears of the ocean that i had.

i highly suggest him for surfing lessons and canoe rides. i went twice on the canoe and the experience was incredible and required team work which is always rewarding.
