This beach has turned into one of our go to beaches close to home. Love the beautiful views but mostly I love how every time we go there's not a lot of people here. Everyone has space to do what they want whether it's fishing, swimming, body boarding, having a picnic or a bbq, or just hanging out and watching the ocean tide come and go. Also love catching the sunsets here. It's really gorgeous. A few tips: +Depending on the time of day and time of year the waves can be really strong so be careful if you do decide to swim. +When the tide is low be cautious of the drop off on the other side of the rocks. It doesn't look like much but it is Very Steep and Very Deep. If you're not careful it could cause injury. +Take whatever you decide to bring which is true for all beaches on the island--don't forget your belongings and most definitely do NOT forget to take your trash with you and drop them off in trash bins located close to parking spots. It is super important to clean up after yourself. Please respect the property so other people can enjoy it after you.

Nice beach, and it's part of the Marine corps property, but the beach is open to the public and it's a high theft area, so be careful with your belongings. There were some homeless people hanging around, probably because it's an undeveloped area and the forested area is a good place for them to sleep without being bothered. Lots of underground WWII bunkers can be seen along the road abandoned and deteriorating.

Hidden away at Nimitz Beach are the naval Nimitz Beach Cottages. Well appointed and serviced duplex double bedroom with a shared bathroom units. Perfectly pleasant for a weekend getaway with the family. Remember to take coal for the outside BBQ and all your necessities as there are no shops close by. Good surfing, SUP and a few turtles!

My wife and I love this beach - the walk from your vehicle to the beach, to the water is supah short and love it. You're not required to lug you beach gear hundreds of feet to your beach spot. This beach is perfect for little ones to just sit and play in the water - if you prefer to swim - park closer to the Coast guard side or go to White plains instead. This beach also has NO bathroom, unless you feel obligated to use the ocean. My wife and I take out son here often to chill at the beach and sometimes just chill in the trunk of our vehicle and...
