USCG Hideaway Club — Restaurant in Hawaii

Pros: The best thing about this place is the vibe. Being a club located at a military base, the vibe is pretty chill. It's an outdoor club and there are fun things to do while you eat and socialize including: corn hole, pool, beach volleyball, karaoke, horseshoe, and even basketball. The club is set up as a bar for the most part.

Cons: My one complaint with this place is the food. If you’re looking to grab a beer and some hot wings, you may be lucky if there’s any left because they always seem to be out of wings. The bar also doesn’t feel the need to usually make any food since they typically have 1 or 2 food trucks outside which just seems lazy to me. If you’re not a fan of the food on the trucks, you’re basically screwed since the bar doesn’t usually want to make any.

Would recommend if you're looking for a place to grab a drink and chill with some friends. It is on a milia base though, so you need to know someone with a military ID that...

We love coming here for fight nights (they get all of the UFC Pay-Per-View fights) because it's tucked away and doesn't get a huge crowd...which means we don't have to show up 3 hours before the fight to get a table. The atmosphere is great and there's also other things there that we haven't done yet (shuffle board, volleyball, etc). On the flip side, while the staff is always pleasant, the food takes a long time to come out, it's not that great (fried bar food only), and there's usually an error with our order. Despite the slow service we used to really like this place. They were unbeatable for the UFC fight nights but now they charge a $10 cover per person for the fights. They say you get a free beer with your cover but it was limited to flavored Bud Light or vodka shots, or PBR draft (which I can't stand). I could get behind them instituting a purchase minimum or a food/drink credit with your cover to give customers a choice in what they use it for, because I know the fight tickets are expensive, but I'm not in favor of drinking something I don't want just because they over-ordered it.
