Lovely hike that really anyone can do! It can be slippery but since it’s an old highway it is completed paved all the way up, I even saw people mountain biking up/down. About 3 miles. The very beginning and very end are fenced off by signs, but just walk around them and it’s fine (everyone does), when you get to the very top for the lookout point, you’ll have to squeeze through the fence but the average height/weight person can squeeze through, or jump it. If you park by the golf course you can do another trail that takes you to a waterfall- extremely muddy tho but fun!

My favorite hike. At the end of Kionaole Road. You can park in the lot for $10, or along the road. Note: leave nothing valuable visible in your car. Second, make sure you are completely inside the line on the side of the road. Paved almost all the way up. When the road appears to split in front of you, take the road that continues going up. At the turn in the road (it's pretty obvious) head over the back guardrail on the right side. Boulder hop back to two waterfalls. They won't be pumping, but they are peaceful.

Just wanted to post an update because the information online was inconsistent and seemingly unreliable, but this trail is pretty blatantly closed. There were others casually walking past the barricade, so it doesn’t seem consistently enforced, but I can’t imagine some old graffiti’d concrete is worth risking a criminal record. Just wanted to prevent others from making the drive if they weren’t willing to trespass.
