Real Hawaii Experience — Attraction in Oʻahu

This experience is a MUST when visiting the island! So, I'm gonna start by saying that we definitely know our way around Oahu. We've visited half a dozen times and have friends who live on the island. All of this to say... we have NEVER experienced something like this! First of all, we felt really comfortable and safe, despite the fact that you're literally spinning a flaming knife in the air haha. But also, this experience really helped us understand the history and the culture of the fireknife dance. It's one thing to go to a luau and see a performance, it's another thing to know all of the history and heart that goes into the dance itself. We really appreciate the opportunity to experience the hawaiian culture and felt very invited into their world. Throughout the experience, you will learn to spin the fireknife and to drum, as well as see a performance of fireknife dancing from a professional. I could not recommend this more highly. I cannot say enough about Oahu Experience… First, they welcome you as if you are family, and then they immerse you into their cultural traditions, and teach you how to participate. They give you the history behind each activity and they give you the skills to perform them adeptly. From fire knife dancing to pounding poi, making a ti leaf lei and imbibing kava, loading the imu and enjoying the delectable contents once cooked, the entire evening is a once in a lifetime experience. This experience was so fun! The food was amazing, and the show was awesome my 4 year old daughter was able to learn the many cultures of the Polynesian island and taught some of the dances me and my family will definitely be back to visit and do...
