When talking about which playground to go to with my kids we don't usually use the official name, we clarify like "the one with the big slide" or "the one with the spinning spider web".
This one is " the one with a lot of monkey bars". It also has a log roller which is pretty unique. I love that it's surrounded by the forest and we saw a huge hawk last time we were there.

Read moreI do not particularly enjoy this park. It is on a flood plain so its clear why the city won't dump too much of it's time and energy into it's facilities. It's a good place for runners, as there is a paved loop, and probably a good place for football players as there is a field. Other than that, the playgrounds are lack luster and the bathrooms are gross very often. No hiking trails, basic pavilions. Read moreThe only down side to Dames is I feel like I see more mosquitoes than I do at other area parks. Maybe it's because it floods occasionally. We like to take bikes to the park and ride around the back circle. Our kids also enjoy both playground sets. I wish the restrooms stayed open year-round, but that's a city of O'Fallon thing to winterize and close them. We go to the park to play in cold months if it's nice enough and sometimes the kids need restrooms. Overall, we do visit Dames frequently. It's...
