By far the best park in town. The equipment for kids to play with is extensive. There is a little kids area and an older kids area. Multiple slides, swings, a whole huge structure, tunnels, climbing, community art, and lots of kids to play with. There is even a shelter for the parents right in the thick of the playground.
If that isn't enough there is also a frisbee golf course, football fields, baseball field, soccer fields, a walking/exercise path, basketball hoops, and I have even seen places where I see people fly remote controlled planes. There are picnic structures and it is right on the (free) bus line.
I am also going to take exception to Tatiana's review. It is a great park. Yes it is the kind of park with manicured grass, playground equipment, soccer/baseball/football fields, a golf course, basketball courts, and public art. I rate things for what they are not what they aren't. It isn't deception pass state park, but I don't give deception pass a bad review because it doesn't have a baseball field. That is asinine. It is a great city park.
Like I said - best...
Read moreExcellent city park for football and soccer practice fields, big playground, woods trails. I love it for it's disc golf course. There are a few layouts to play (all on one course). I prefer the 21-hole version, a couple of mostly open shots, 14 in woods, most with tight tunnel fairways, then numbers 17-21 work around the edges of fields back to the park entrance gate. Love the variety! On Saturdays in Fall you may find a football games on the first field as you exit the woods. Don't risk hitting a kid or parent, just give yourself a par and keep going. Over the fence is OB and private property. I haven't heard of anybody getting in trouble for fetching his disc - just be respectful and track where your disc landed; brush is thick. The sign on the gate says the park is open until 10:00, with no mention of seasons. I have played a few solo glow rounds here when most other parks would have kicked me out, or even fined me for being...
Read morePlenty of sports fields for your kiddo's to game in. Decent covered eating areas. Grounds are well kept clean and manicured. 2 play areas one for lil ones and next to it for the bigger kids. This park also has some nice walk paths. Water fountains and clean bathrooms on premises. Ample parking. 2 stars deducted for the Bee problem. Every year kids get stung sometimes swarmed. My son was swarmed the year before last and had to go to the hospital. Last year I read in the news 2 different times children were swarmed and stung there and went to the hospital. This bee problem is probably because it is a wooden playground. They need to check the play areas more...
