This park is a hidden gem! (Half tempted to keep as a local secret…half joking but totally serious) As a resident and mom who's hosted a 7-year-old's birthday here (and rented that surprisingly poppin' gazebo), let me break it down:
The Gazebo Scoop: Super affordable but books fast - don't assume your date is open! Has electrical hookups (perfect for bounce houses or our snow cone machine) Great covered tables with direct splash pad views
Splash Pad + Play Areas: Clean, well-maintained splash pad (push button on fence pole to activate) No burning eyes like those over-chlorinated spots 3 separate play structures, nicely spread out but all within view Perfect for ages 'just standing' to 9/10 years (sweet spot is 3-6 years)
The Layout: Tons of picnic space 4 covered bench areas by splash pad (yes, we all know about the towel-claiming situation 😉) Clean, conveniently located bathrooms Plenty of parking without being overcrowded
The Setting: Beautiful rolling hills No houses in sight until you're 2 blocks out One block to outdoor amphitheater Duck pond nearby (maybe skip the Goldfish snacks!)
Mom Review: Been here 10-30 times over 5 years with my kids (8 & 3). It's just perfect - clean, spacious, and actually enjoyable for...
Read moreWe have been here to this park several times. There is a shaded picnic area which can be reserved. There are 6 tables in there and they can reserve it for multiple parties, call in advance. There is a splash pad open starting memorial day to labor day and it is nice and fun for kids. There is also a big field with a small amphitheater with seating at the top of the hill in the field. The hill is perfect for rolling down. There are 2 separate play areas with toys appropriate for each age. The upper one is on wood chips and is perfect for 3 to 8 years. The lower one is down a flight of stairs but there is a wheelchair ramp down also. The second play area is for older children up to about age 12. The second one is more difficult to supervise but there is a bench and water fountain situated perfectly to see both play...
Read morePretty run down and abysmal showing for the local parks district. No stairs to get down to main park, so most slog up and down the steep grass hill trying not to slip and yardsale their belongings. This splash pad just isn't up to snuff. It's a nice experience for the kids on a hot day, but kids have no standards. Having been out of state and visited well-maintained and thought out park systems, this is really sub-par. You also have an unusable lower park that has plywood over the main slide and hasn't been updated since the 90s (that's over 30 years ago people). It should be covered caution tape. Knowing how much the local municipalities pull in in taxes in these parts, this is truly unacceptable and we the people shouldn't accept the mediocrity on full...
