My family and I love picking blueberries at VanderHelm Farms. This year, we did not have a chance to pick blueberries, so I decided to buy two pounds already picked and ready for purchase. There are many different verites all delicious in their own way. This particular one, can't remember the name, was flavourful but too soft inside for our liking. Our favorities are crispy blueberries. The convenience they offer of just buying blueberries picked from the farm is awesome! Personally, I'd rather go out and pick my own berries so I can control the ripeness of the fruit that goes into my bucket. VanderHelm farm also grows and sells many verities of peaches, cherries, nectarines, strawberries, zucchini, and more. To enjoy big juicy strawberries, plan to go picking before the heat arrives. This is a great place for the whole family. There is a little play area for the kids and a nice barn that provides a cool place to sit and pay for...
Read moreI would have rated this place a 5 star but the customer service was not there. Before going I looked over there website for details. One of their requests was to bring a good attitude, so I expected them to greet and welcome us when we arrived. We didn't get any welcome or guidance to anything. They have signs up to show you, but again I was expecting excellent customer service. We went about our way and once we came back to pay there was still no hello or how was your experience, she just rang us up and that was that. I thanked them, but did not get a thank you for coming or anything. I guess I just figured since they represent themselves to be friendly on website and want everyone to come here happy that they would actually do that in return. The peaches here were excellent though, hands down the yummiest I've had in awhile. We bought peaches and blueberries. Nice place to visit, hopefully customer service will improve by...
Read moreA little far from the bay area (2 hour drive from SF). But worth it! The farm is very well maintained with many differ varieties of blueberries. $3 per pound, and the also have stamp reward cards which spend $50 get $10. Different kind of blueberries taste different and rippen at different time. Came on memorial day, most of the blueberries are ready to pick, except a few, like the Legacy, Emerald... For the kinds that is ready, I like Snowchaser and Ventura the best, very flavorful and sweet. Springhigh is not as sweet and lack in flavor compare to snowchaser.
Paid $17 one full bucket. Much a better deal than the blueberries you can get at...
