Dear fellow travelers,
I felt compelled to share my heartfelt experiences with Redwoods in Yosemite, a place that has become a cherished haven for me over the past three-plus years. As someone who has frequented this remarkable destination, I can genuinely attest to the unparalleled warmth and hospitality that defines this hidden gem. One of the most outstanding features of Redwoods in Yosemite is the exceptional staff. Their incredible dedication and friendliness make each visit feel like a reunion with family. Their genuine care extends beyond mere customer service – it's an authentic embrace that creates an environment where guests, including myself, feel truly at home.
The convenience offered by the on-site market, appropriately named Pine Market, adds a unique touch to the overall experience. From basic necessities to charming souvenirs, the market caters to every need. The proximity to beautiful hiking paths, an events center, and essential amenities such as firewood ensures that everything is within arm's reach, making the stay not only comfortable but also thoroughly enjoyable.
What sets Redwoods in Yosemite apart is the sense of community that permeates the entire atmosphere. It's a place where neighbors are not just neighbors but friends willing to share and support. I've experienced this firsthand, from borrowing cooking ingredients from nearby cabins to the overall camaraderie that makes every interaction a joy.
The location's strategic proximity to the valley floor strikes a perfect balance. It provides the feeling of being just close enough to the heart of the action, yet far enough to bask in the tranquility of nature. This quaint convenience adds a unique charm to the overall experience, making it a retreat that feels both familiar and refreshing.
During my recent visit over Veterans Day weekend with my non-profit organization, the Trace Club, I had the privilege of working closely with Yuli Gostev, the Marketing Manager. Yuli played a pivotal role in coordinating a climbing and wellness retreat for our team. His unwavering support, from providing a comprehensive itinerary to connecting us with locals and fellow rock climbers, showcased a commitment to going above and beyond.
The on-site climbing boulders and nearby climbing locations further emphasize Redwoods in Yosemite's commitment to outdoor enthusiasts. It's a haven for climbers, offering both convenience and scenic beauty just a short walk from the cabins.
I must express my profound gratitude for the pet and veteran-friendly policies. As a veteran with a service dog, the respect and assistance provided during the booking process have been exemplary.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Redwoods in Yosemite to fellow travelers seeking a retreat that transcends the ordinary. The memories created here are not just about the breathtaking surroundings or the well-appointed cabins but are woven into the fabric of a community that welcomes you with open arms. This is not just a destination; it's a sanctuary, and I, for one, will continue to make it my favorite...
Read moreI stayed there recently with some friends and was pleased with how close the cabins are to the park. The cabin had a nice floor plan for a group and the kitchen was great for cooking for multiple people. The beds were not the most comfortable but not horrible either. Although it looked like they had never cleaned under the bed.
We enjoyed our first two nights at the cabin but unfortunately the last night the power went out. I understand that power going out due to Edison is something that’s not controllable. Although having the cabin prepared well enough for such things is very much in control of the rental company. Due to it being a rural area shops close early and thus we were not able to get our own supplies. The 1 battery powered light in the cabin did not have fresh batteries and so we had to call for some as well as additional lighting. The additional lighting provided was 2 kerosene lamps as well as 1 kerosene lamp already in the cabin. Only 1 of the lamps worked and the other two did not have oil. Also the lamp oil was not indoor use kerosene but instead the kind used for outdoor tiki torches and so it filled the cabin with fumes that was quite intense. We had to put the lamp in the fire place to allow the fumes to go up the chimney which diminished the available light. Fires were not allowed this time of year.
The biggest issue is that due to the power being out the electric pump that supplied the cabin with water no longer supplied the cabin with water. The cabin completely ran out of water. Management should know this happens when the power is out. I can wait to shower in the morning and wash dishes later. It’s unacceptable to have no drinking water and especially not be able to flush the toilet. Management did not provide any additional water to at least manually flush the toilet and have spare water to drink. A simple 5 gal jug would have gotten us through the evening. I feel like this is something that should have been provided without having to ask. Unfortunately, management made it seem that even asking for additional lighting was an inconvenience even though it should have been provided without having to ask.
Back up lighting and water are not hard to provide and should be a priority provided by management when the power has gone out. I manage two rental cabins myself as well as have a very rural family cabin with that has no running water and electricity. I am used to “roughing it” as well as providing service. Given the price of the cabin is $500/night these basic things should be provided without having to pull teeth...
Read moreMy husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this great little cabin in The Redwoods in Yosemite (#73 Walk A Bout). It felt like Haley Mills’s 1961 Parent Trap meets John Candy’s The Great Outdoors (two of my favorite movies). We arrived after the office closed, so we picked up our keys and welcome packet where it was left for us outside the office. The office staff are very friendly and helpful. The cabin is wonderfully decorated with all the rustic details you can possibly imagine and a large fireplace, which was wonderful to relax in front of while watching TV or reading a book after a long day in the park. Be sure to ask for fatwood fire starter at the office when you check in. The master bedroom has a very comfortable king size bed, and the second bedroom has a queen size bed as well as a twin! There are extra blankets and pillows galore so everyone can be warm and comfortable. It would be perfect for a small family, which made me wish for the days we could have had our two (now grown) daughters with us as it is stocked with lots of games, coloring books, and activities for kids. The kitchen is well equipped and ready for any meal you’d like to prepare, and additionally a grill on the deck. We got most of our groceries from the Pine Market just a little ways down the road from the cabin. There’s also the Village Market in Yosemite Valley with a large selection of souvenirs as well as groceries. My only complaint was a couple of oversights by the cleaning crew such as dried food/crumbs on the kitchen table and a previous guest’s socks lying by the front door. And it could use a good dusting throughout, but we were sad to have to leave this cozy retreat and would definitely stay there again! UPDATE: Erin at The Redwoods reached out and made it up to me for the very slight cleaning oversights. That kind of service doesn't seem to be the norm in today's world, so I am very grateful to Erin that she contacted me to make things right even though we were not so bothered with anything that we wouldn't return or recommend to someone else. Stay here! These are nice and...
