Foothill Square Shopping Center — Attraction in Oakland

Ross- never has a full inventory! The Shelves are always empty. But a plus is the store is always mostly clean! Food*co- decent prices but very bad customer service! There is one dude that works there that does provides excellent customer services! Bingo- ive never been! Rainbow- is cool! Shoe palace- is over priced! Youngs cleaners- is an awesome place! Respectable staff with good fast service! The chinese food spot- food is pretty decent. But the customer service is ghetto and terrible. The 2 women in the aprons up front serving the food are rude! Nail shop- i havent tried them but does have decent prices! Last i checked the woman doing nails were older and i just wondered how well they can do modern designs and shapes! Never been the speaker shop! And. Carl's jr is just that! Ur regular fast food joint! The other Dr offices are there i dont know anything about the dialysis center but the health center is pretty cool but most of the drs normally run late! Beware! Never been to the washhouse! FoodsCo is a terrific supermarket for the big monthly shopping. The prices are as low as they go. It's a huge store, they have a great selection of standard items, and a great selection of sale items. Every couple of months they will have Challenge Butter for $2.00 or $2.50 a pound! As someone who loves to bake, the second best butter around at this unheard of price...Let's bake some oat cookies! The location is a bit of a jaunt for me, but for the selection, the variety, the prices, the friendly staff, and the low, low prices, it's worth a 20 minute drive every month or two. I've found a lost item: frozen Italian Green Beans here, I grew up on these and have not seen them in over 30 years, but they have them here -- I even took several bags of them to my sister. Surprisingly, the beef and pork here are really, really good. I've had more than one melt in your mouth Rib Eye steak, Rib Roasts and other cuts that made some very special meals. One downside is that I often have to trek back into the parking lot for a cart, and the store is BIG!

FoodCo. Almost as good as WinCo. It's nice to see a grocery store with prices, hands down, lower than their local competitors. Your money goes much farther here than it will at just about any other grocery store in the area. That's the good news.

The not-so-good, are their lines. I'd say that, lines are an indicator of their low prices, and that they come with the territory. But they -do- have the correct number of POS (points of sale) checkouts. It's just that rarely are more than 4 lanes of checkouts manned.

Upper management might think they are saving a few bucks by not having to pay for another cashier's wages, but I know I'm not the only one who has ever walked in, saw the ridiculously long lines, and determined that the higher prices of Safeway were worth the convenience of not having to wait...
