In late elementary school and throughout middle school, Nina Lovill was my art teacher. As an adult, I have reconnected with her to rekindle my love for art. In grade school, I learned many techniques and worked with many different materials. This time around, I chose oil paint, since I had no experience with the material. I usually attend one class per week.

From working as a teacher for many decades, Nina has the ability to discern each student's talent level, abilities, and style. Able to work with a variety of students, Nina can improve anyone's abilities, regardless of skill level. If you are looking to learn drawing or painting, or would like to improve, I could not recommend anyone more highly than Nina Lovill at A painter's Palette. The group lesson setting provides a welcoming environment; there is a great group of students of all ages and skill levels sharing their love of learning, and of art itself. I have been taking lessons at A Painters Palette LLC here in Ocala for the past 4 years. What a difference it has made in my paintings. I have learned how to execute the Rembrandt technique of painting in oils and she has helped me tremendously with composition and color. I have learned to use reference materials in my paintings for exactness and accuracy and I have had great success in the execution of 11 beautiful paintings the last ones of which have grown in size up to 48 inches. Everyone in class whom I have met has been awesome to be around and we seem like a big family when together. The atmosphere is calming and one of creativity and enjoyment, a real escape from real life. I really love to get away and lose myself in my painting in this beautiful place. I moved to Ocala a year ago and had been thinking of taking an art class for a very long time. I found Nina's website and immediately contacted her. I wasn't sure what I really wanted to do and initially my goal was to continue to draw and maybe learn new techniques since my last drawing class in college which was many years ago. When I met Nina and showed her some of my old drawings, she convinced me to try oil painting. I must say I was very nervous to try it as I really didn't know anything about painting.
