It’s an unassuming plot of land on the side of the road that you’ll probably pass by without realizing. Developers wanted to build housing here, so it’s a relic of what the island once looked like. There is a short walkway leading to an overlook that rises one story above the marsh, so you can see the lake and (hopefully) the birds. There is often trash and empty beer bottles here, which is why I rated it so low. Still, if you’re looking for somewhere in Ocean City to enjoy a view of nature for free, this is your spot, even if it’s only for a few minutes.

I was disappointed in that there seemed to be once entrance (unmarked) and one pier to watch birds. Most of the view was blocked by trees and the wildlife was so far away. I did see Osprey and hundreds of white ibis, but not worth the drive from AC.

Stainton Wildlife Refuge in Ocean City, NJ is a pleasant spot for a quick visit. The main attraction is the observation tower, which offers a peaceful view of the surrounding marshlands. It’s a nice spot to take in some fresh air and enjoy a quiet moment with nature. A surprising little gem. I saw a number of species, and the ospreys were just showing off. I only used the platform and wasn't aware of any trails, so I didn't see any trash. The platform is going to get tree'd in before long. The one way it could be improved would be a platform that doesn't face southeast. Otherwise visit late in the day so the the sun...
