This was a great place to visit to learn more about the history, environment and critters of the WA coast. We have been coming to Ocean Shores for years and I learned a lot. This is a hands on interpretive center. The volunteers were amazing, encouraging kids and adults to open drawers, and to touch a variety of items. They even have a cute gift/book store. This is a good thing for all visitors to put on their to-do list when visiting Ocean Shores. It explains things and wildlife and provides for a better appreciation of the...

We loved spending time learning about native history and peoples, and admiring their technology, methods and tools. It was awesome to see comprehensive exhibits covering a variety of topics including history of the forests, animals, and grey’s harbor communities and beyond. We learned many new interesting things about the Pacific Northwest because of this museum, and even brought home special souvenirs, including an interesting book by a local author. Definitely worth a visit for lovers of nature and...

My husband and I spent a winter weekend in Ocean Shores with the heavy rains we were looking for things to do and saw some reviews of this place. It was wonderful! I really enjoyed the shipwreck information as that is the second ship wreck capital of the world. In addition we were able to actually touch whale vertebrae which was amazing! lots of wonderful information great staff it’s a must visit while in Ocean Shores. We did not go with children but they were wonderful exhibits that the...

Very fun museum and great to visit the less busy edge of Ocean Shores area. The kids had the best time in the science exploration area and our 4 year old said before bed later that night "I can't wait to be a scientist". They had fun leading us through the whole museum afterwards and there's so much to see. Shipwreck items, local history, dioramas, taxidermist preserved local natural creatures, and a cute little gift shop. All for very reasonable price and with friendly staff.

Easily my favorite place in Ocean Shores. Very cool exhibits on natural and cultural history of the region. Exhibits on geology and minerals; coastal systems and watersheds; shipping and logging industry; beachcombing activities; natural history and animals of the region. It’s $8 entry for adults (subsidized for students and military/veterans) and so worth it. The docent at the front desk was so friendly and nice. Lots of fun books and gifts (magnets, toys) in the gift shop.
