So disappointed, not in the park, but in myself. We came mainly for the museum, but I didn't pay enough attention to see that it is only open Memorial Day through Labor Day. We were two weeks too late.
I haven't been here since a school field trip. I can't recall which grade, but sometime between 30 and 40 years ago.
Still, we made the most of it. The River Trail is beautiful. We didn't see the big snake in the tree, but we did see several smaller ones, along with a lot of other small wildlife (including some BIG spiders). There are a lot of flowers and mushrooms, and very scenic views. Love the historical markers, and appreciate all the informational signage.

The man working in the museum was very knowledgeable and friendly. He has been working with the project for over 40 years and gave our kids some souvenir ancient pieces of copper.
