I love this hike to the waterfall. I have been coming here ever since I was a kid. It is sunny for the first half and the last bit is through dense trees and is shaded. There are many trails and it's not marked which is which so if you haven't already been to the waterfall you need to use your wits to know which way to go. You can either ask one of the friendly hikers which way to go or you can listen for the creek. Start on the trail that heads East. Then when you come to a T stop go right. At the next crossing take the left fork. You will meet up with the river soon after that. The waterfall is about 100 feet high and is surrounded by a rock Canyon on three sides. Listen for the creek. If you're headed away from it you're going the wrong way. It's a easy to moderate hike. We had children with us ages 14 to 7 months old. The older one did great and ones under 4 needed help. With little ones it took about 2 hours but, if you are going with seasoned hikers you can go both...
Read moreI love this trailhead! The drive through the neighborhood with all the beautiful mature trees is so pretty! I use this trailhead to hike the waterfall canyon trail. It is so pretty! Watch for the waterfall Canyon Trail sign on a small chain when you cross the bridge. To the right goes to Strong Canyon. But the sign shows to go left up to waterfall Canyon. When I hiked this trail in July, the waterfall was huge and beautiful. I hiked at the last day of August and the water was nearly gone, but still so beautiful. I love all the big rocks you hike along the way. Is one of the things I love about this trail. this trail is dog friendly, you’ll see lots of people of dogs, and everyone loved my dogs. It makes it so enjoyable! Hiking this trail head to waterfall Canyon and back I believe is about 3 1/2 miles. It is my favorite trail!I highly recommend it. Just be aware it is a little bit more difficult, and with all the rocks, be careful not to twist an ankle or slip....
Read moreI love this hike. best one in ogden, and the only one in ogden I've been to, fun fact. We went the waterfall canyon route. As far as reference to other hikes around here, I am among the worst to ask. But if High school english taught me anything, its if you know more about one side of an argument than the other, choose that side and disregard anything else. Waterfall is by far the best hike in ogden. Unlike other trails, it is a constant blast, going from rock to rock to the top of the trail. Very shaded for most of the hike, at the end of your refreshing endeavor you get to see something that is very rare in nature.WATER! But, what's even better is that the water is Falling! So you could say it's a WATERFALL! Should you do this hike? Absolutely, you will not regret.... well you might, if you do dislike my post here. I like to see the impact I...
