Best Winery ever and tasting room us such a delight. Mindy was fantastic at getting our tasting shots, friendly along with very nice to all the customers waiting for tastings. Fabulous little German winery off the beaten path for sure. We went during the week to avoid the crowds and to enjoy the pleasan6winery without all the people. Numerous wines to select from so you can't go wrong as there is definitely some wine flavor for everyone for sure. Went with my sister, and we truly enjoyed our time there with Mindy selecting so many different ones to taste. Mindy had us try a mystery wine she selected for us, and to our amazement, it was so tasty to top it off. We ended up with a german reisling, peach, and plum fruit wine. They had a great selection of wine gifts, too. We ended up with shirts, glasses, and coasters. Wine prices were so reasonable, along with supporting a locally-owned winery that's been in business since 1980. It's definitely a winery tou don't want to miss, so take a drive for maybe 25 minutes and see Mindy for a tasting.

There's a little gem hidden in the heart of Ohio on the outskirts of Amish country. Breitenbach has something for EVERYONE! They have a wide selection of sweet fruit wines (Raspberry, BlackBerry, Dandelion), a wide variety of both sweeter (Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Chardonnay) and dry (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon) traditional varietals. BUT... don't forget the 4barrel Tawny Port or the Solara Cream Sherry!! They offer AFFORDABLE tastings in their main shop, they have a wide selection of meats & cheeses for sandwiches and usually a food truck on the patio where they have live music. Back to the wine: it's affordable and GOOD! I salute their winemaker for doing such an impressive job on ALL of their wines. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area... OR making Breitenbach winery your destination for a day trip! What do I know? I only picked up 18 bottles last month. ;-)

Recently visited Breitenbach Wine Cellars in Dover, OH, and I must say, it was an experience worth every moment! From the moment we walked in, the welcoming atmosphere and the scent of wine filled the air, setting the tone for a memorable visit. The wine selection was impressive, offering a variety of flavors that catered to every palate, and the cheese pairings were absolutely divine – a true testament to their quality and selection. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly, providing insights into each wine we tasted. The serene environment, combined with the stunning views of Amish country, made for a peaceful and enjoyable afternoon. I highly recommend Breitenbach Wine Cellars to anyone passing through the area or looking for a lovely day out. A hidden gem in the heart of Ohio! 🍷🧀 #WineLovers #BreitenbachExperience

This review is in regards to the wedding planning/Tool Shed side of Breitenbach Wine Cellars. Let me first say that if you are going to this winery for their wine and the actual winery setting, it is one of the best! My fiancé grew up in the Sugarcreek area and every chance we get when we are back visiting family, we stop at Breitenbach. The wine is great, the staff has been attentive, and we’ve really enjoyed ourselves. This was the only place we pictured having our wedding but that changed quickly once we began to communicate with Linsay, their event planner. Our overall experience with Tool Shed event planning side of things was horrible, unprofessional, and very disappointing. It seems as if booking events is not a priority to them and that they don't really want to be bothered with booking an event if it's any day besides a Saturday. Many places offer Friday, Saturday, and Sunday event rentals but the Tool Shed isn't one of them. We were told on our original tour of the event space that Fridays and Sundays could be an option and that they would follow up with us with a concrete answer. That follow up never occurred and when we sought it out ourselves months after the fact, we we had to pry to finally find out that Fridays/Sundays were never an option, at all. The communication is lacking and very wishy-washy. My fiance and I felt like we were pulling teeth to even get a follow up call from our original visit. When we did talk on the phone, we weren’t treated well at all.

With as great of a space as the Tool Shed is, we would have expected a top notch, super-professional, well organized, and pleasant event planner. Sadly, we did not get that. This experience has ruined how we feel about Breitenbach as a whole as well. We’ve spent a lot of time and money visiting, purchasing cases upon cases of wine, and bringing family/friends from Pittsburgh so they all could experience a place that we both loved so much. It is upsetting that has all been ruined by that experience with one very inexperienced/unprofessional event planner. Needless to say, we’ve moved on from that negative experience and have found the venue of our new dreams, one where our business has been appreciated from the first second of our inquiry. It all worked out in the end… just wish we didn’t have to go through what we did with Breitenbach to find the real...

Fantastic wine and even more fantastic service. The wines here are out of the world. I was told the strawberry wine is the only wine to truly capture the flavor correctly, and that was proven correct. I sampled several wines and the employee was so enthusiastic they offered flavors I hadn't thought of, let alone asked for. The excitement and pride from the employees alone could have sold half the store to me, including the person who ran the register. They have cheese, meats, and chocolates among other snacks, but it's the wine that's out of this world. I found a flavor other than the strawberry that simply floors me. I waited to get home and go through the large supply I purchased before writing a review to make sure it was just as good outside the enthusiasm, and it is. Everyone who shared some with me thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't recommend them enough if you're looking for a great experience and even greater products. I'll be back, even if I have to make the half-day trip for...
