I have to have a really bad experience in order to leave a negative review of any establishment. Like, really bad. I am a local. So is my daughter, her friends, her boyfriend, his family, and her step-brother. I have eaten here numerous times. For Homecoming, my daughter and her group wanted to eat at Laurentia and have a few photos taken there as it is a beautiful spot, so it was two birds, one stone . Mind you, I'm just her mom. I'm not a photographer or a professional. We decided to go around back away from anyone else to grab some photos before dinner. NO ONE was out there. Not a single person. It was just us. The kids were running late and the weather was making getting any photos super hard. We had to keep running for cover and to stop what we were doing. No one else was outside. I was not taking pictures of guests, staff, etc. After the third attempt and getting poured on, I figured I'd just grab a few photos under the cover we ran to, and head in for food... but two employees pushed the door open and rudely exclaimed that they can't "have" people taking photos on their property, they don't allow it. They said it's been a problem today, and they had to ask us to not do it. It could've been asked politely, or rather not at all. We weren't harming anything or bothering anyone, and we were about to eat dinner there. I said ok, obviously p*ed because now there was no way I was giving them my business...and now I had to go elsewhere for the few photos I wanted to get of family members. I guess they only allow photos when it's a massive wedding party paying them boatloads of money, or during the summer when they have live music and drunks are recording with their phones out. I find it interesting that all of these reviews have photos of the property. Hmmm, convenient. I guess once you start thriving off of tourists, you no longer care about the locals that made you. There was absolutely no reason for that. There are an enormous amount of wineries in the area. I'll make sure friends and family, along with myself,...
Read moreThe third weekend of October, my husband and I along with eight of our friends decided to spend an evening at the wineries. Our first stop was Laurentia. My husband and I frequent M Cellars and Hundley, and we had previously brought our friends to M Cellars so we decided to give Laurentia a try.
The location is absolutely beautiful, especially in the fall. They have a gorgeous patio with a pond in the back, and you couldn’t ask for a better view.
We got there at 5 PM and they do not take reservations, we were told the wait for inside was an hour and they were seating outside. We were seated at two tables on their patio. It was about 50° outside, and I was stunned to find out that they did not have any heaters so I’m really not sure why they were seating people and serving food outside . we all decided that we would cut the visit short, we put an order in for flatbreads, enjoyed the view while we waited for our food Ordered wine. I had the Riesling and it was quite good. Our food however, was probably the worst I’ve ever had. The flatbread tasted like uncooked cardboard, there was no cheese on it. The pesto was disgusting, and my pizza was topped with cold tomatoes. I had one bite and had no intentions of taking a second. The other thing I noticed is the last time I had been at Laurentia. They had a full menu. This was a couple of years ago. The only thing they had to offer now were soup, salad, and flatbread. Our friends had the same bad experience with their food that they ordered. Between sitting outside with no heaters and the horrible food we left in under an hour. And the only reason we were there that long was because it took 45 minutes to get our food.
Fortunately, we headed to Hundley and had an excellent...

The property is beautiful with vineyards all around and a lake out back. The interior has a cabin feel to it but they have a private library downstairs for booking as well. We visited on a cold rainy day but it was still such a good time. Staff is so friendly and took us downstairs to the wine cellar for a quick tour and explained all about the winery! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone coming to this area! We were visiting from SC but have done a lot of the other wineries in the area and this one was by far the best. We’re planning to come back in the summer to see the outdoor area! Food is well priced for what you get. You can’t go wrong with the meat and cheese board. It has plenty of everything for everyone. The baked Brie came with bread and was topped with nuts and honey. The pork osso fell off the bone and was a really large portion size. The mushroom ravioli was also fantastic. We got the unoaked Chardonnay which was recommended to us by the staff. I usually am a Pino Grigio person but that Chardonnay was one of the best I’ve had! Once again everything was so worth the price because of the flavors and...
