This is a wonderful dog park, perhaps one of the best dog parks in the area. Most owner have good dogs that they watch and are very vigilant. Like any dog park, you still get the bad owners with dogs that cause harm to other dogs, so just be aware of that. I have never had an issues with my two dachshunds because they stay very close to me. Lots of bigger dogs want to chase them because they are small, which isn’t a problem because they just want to play.

The loop in the park is great and we really enjoy the trial, there are multiple waste stations along the trail, and the park is generally very well kept and stocked with bags. I believe it is closed two times a week for maintenance according to the hours sign.

The pond is pretty murky but I feel like that is a Kansas standard. It is pretty overgrown with algae this time of year but early summer is great and my dogs enjoy playing in it.

The bathrooms are also pretty nice, and a newer addition. I remember when it was only a portapotty. So it is a big plus to have that. There is also always water and multiple bowls for the dogs to drink...

I loved bringing my dog to Heritage, there is plenty of open space and beautiful views. The benches are evenly spaced out, but I do wish there were more trash cans. The scenery is well-maintained, there isn't poop scattered everywhere, there is a very convenient dog watering station, and plenty of more secluded areas where you can play fetch. I enjoyed going there to train my puppy in a small corner of the park where there were not any people. The worst experiences is that it isn't moderated. There are people who bring dogs that are big and knock over all the other animals, there were even a few aggressive dogs who were not controlled by their handlers. I'm editing my post because lately when we take our dog out, there is a lot less bullies than before. There are of course moments, but they are few and far between compared to what we've previously experienced. :) We've also made some friends, there are quite a few regulars that make...

Nice car ride distance from home. Large fenced area with walking trails, benches for tired humans, but far apart, small pond. Big dogs with nice butts to little dogs with nice butts. Humans keep it nice and clean. Poop bags provided. Please poop here. Humans enjoy hoarding it. Disturbing behavior. There's 1 magical water fountain. Clean water flows up from empty bowl! ARFF??

My human broke long ago, and has difficulty walking. I don't judge a bipedally-challenged species. It simply limits the times I able to take her there. Only one flaw: single gate system for entrance and exit. Gangstas speak of a break out attempt. I am sure it has happened. Too many of us are not patient enough to wait for our humans. Slow down. Life is 7 times...

Great place. Benches located around the concrete walking paths as well as poop bags and trash cans. Lots of off leash running areas for hunting breeds that need exercise. Pond for swimming, great for 100 degree days to get cooled off and burn off some energy. It is a muddy entry and exit so bring towels to wipe them down before getting into your car. Drinking fountain at entry for pets and people. Toilets available at entry. Small dog area is separated for people who have tiny fur babies. Overall, great place. Two items missing are benches in shaded areas and an area to wash dogs off.

Right now, February 26th, their big problem is that the gravel walking paths were not maintained for almost a year. They've turned to mud as the old gravel got packed into the ground. The ground is too soft to get gravel trucks into the park. I don't know when they will be able to fix the problems. This is a well-utilized park but you can only use it in the mornings when the mud is frozen. Even then, I still have to wash my dog's feet and my shoes when I get home. I wish more people would complain to the JoCo Parks & Rec department.
