This is a great place to visit. There is a boardwalk set up as a fishing pier, with informative signage about the fish and wildlife in the area. At the end of the boardwalk is a raised observation deck. The park itself is well maintained with ample parking, there are benches, picnic tables, and a small pavilion. The railway drawbridge saw lots of use, both by trains and large boats, while I was there and was fascinating to see. There were several people excersizing their dogs there, or fishing, or just walking and enjoying the day, and everyone was very friendly.

Little Ferry Landing State Park is a great place to take a short walk, bird watch, fish, and train spot. The railroad drawbridge spanning the river is not quite as active as the one near Niantic Bay Boardwalk, but I did see one train cross during my visit. One fun bonus feature at the park were its signs describing local history and ecology.

Can be dangerous for kids. A toddler was climbing on and around on a metal railing that surrounds one of the storyboards on three sides, that father looked away for a second..and the little boy was through that rail and if dad didn't turn right back around, that boy would have fallen in! There is a VERY strong current at here. A beautiful place, but not a place you should take your eyes off your toddler's and curious kids for a second. The pier is great for a stroll and take a few pictures. Keep in mind that this is a popular place for fishing & there can be hooks, lures, bags or boxes of bait, multiple rods leaning on rails etc. Fine for most, may be hectic for those with...

This place is a hidden gem! It is located next to the DEP Marine Headquarters, off Ferry Street. Free and ample parking. Great spot for fishing, crabbing, and bird watching. Bring your camera, because you'll want to capture the beauty of this place. The dock itself is stroller and wheelchair accessible. Leashed dogs are allowed, but bikes are not. There are informational plaques along the way, teaching visitors about the flora and fauna. It's a must-see!...
