We wanted to see the ocean while we were in CT. We headed to Rock Neck State Park. It cost anyone who is not from CT $22 to get in! We paid our fee then found a parking spot. We walked a mile to the one access point to get to the sand. The entire beach area is conveniently behind a railroad track that is 25 feet in the air! You don't even see the beach until you walk through the single car lane walkway under the train tressel. Once you get onto the sand you are sharing it with hundreds of other folks all of who are blasting their music so loud you can't hear. A one mile section of sand crowded to capacity with 1 entrance and exit. It was not to my liking. It's sad that it was hidden behind the train tracks. It was a long walk to a short beach. We will never go back.

This is my all time favorite Connecticut beach spot. I will come here at least a dozen times a year to camp or just to go for a fun beach day. The camping is absolutely amazing and super fun. Everyone is very respectful and the bathrooms are always clean. The beach is also clean too. You want to get there early because it does fill up fast. Usually if it does fill up fast. You can wait around two o'clock and it should be open again to the public. If it's full. It is handicap accessible and definitely. There's a lot of park rangers to help you if you have any questions or concerns that are super friendly.

So much trash left on the beach and rocks. I nearly stepped on broken glass walking on the rocks. I don't usually care about people playing music but people blast it here. I will definitely NOT come back. It is a shame because it looks like a nice beach and place to go. It is packed. Just my experience! Also, if the parking lot is closed which it seems it fills up quickly and happens often, it is a LONG walk to the beach from parking on the street. Beware. Prepare.

LOVE this beach, definitely one of my favorites in Connecticut. Free for CT residents, and super close to the highway. We usually go to the west end and it is so beautiful there. The sand is super soft and there’s plenty of space to settle down, there’s barbecue available on the grassy side and the train that comes once in a while is actually quite nice! if you’re having a good time it feels like a scene out of a movie 😌 there’s multiple lifeguards so i feel super safe at all times. crab fishing is very popular on the rockier side of the beach. definitely...
