While travelling through TN to find that perfect spot to move into, while staying Harriman, drove up, off the highway, I spotted a building that seems to have gone through some kind if incident, fire, collapse, don't know and spotted this town it was in, seemed quite fascinating...mentioned it to my husband and he drove there the next day, there are no signs for it, just follow the road, he loved it, spent a few hours there, met some locals...well, the next day we both went and it is beautiful! Great old architecture, many of the original houses which I was pleased to see have not been covered with any of that plastic nasty stuff being used to "restore" homes (a sin!). We stopped at the historical society's office, a great building where they have worked to display old items from the era, and have built areas as they used to be originally. Very nice people working who took their time to show us around and explain their history and talk about the residents that started this town. Had a wonderful time, learned a lot about their history! Fascinating...
