We loved our lunch visit here! We had meatloaf (wow), fried okra, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, cornbread, pot roast, okra, tater salad, and cornbread—the best homemade meal I've had as far back as I can remember. They took me back to grandma's table for lunch. The service was like grandma making lunch and then calling you to the table to eat. I have wanted to go there for years, and we see them every time we go through town, but they are either not hungry or closed. I was pleased with the time; we were in and out in less than 45 minutes. We were out for a drive and found this gem in Oliver Springs. Good home cooking. Not too fancy, but filling and delicious. We even had a chance to meet Ruby, a delightful lady. Our server was polite and attentive. I ordered the pot roast with mashed potatoes and green beans. ($8.50) and my husband ordered the lunch special: hamburger steak and fries ($8.50) The portions were generous and we left feeling full and happy. This was the second time that I have eaten at Ruby's. Apparently they have been in this location for 7 years. This morning it was busy and the server was overwhelmed. We waited quite a while to be served and for the food to come out. But it was Saturday and we had nowhere to be. The coffee was cold unfortunately, and the biscuits were pretty dry.
