“Levi Carter Park is a wonderful place to enjoy nature and outdoor activities. The park is spacious and well-maintained, offering a variety of amenities including walking trails, picnic areas, and a beautiful pond. It’s perfect for families, joggers, or anyone looking to spend time outdoors.

The playground is great for children, with safe equipment and plenty of space to play. The park also features areas for sports and open fields, making it a great spot for casual games or a peaceful stroll. The pond adds a calming touch, and there’s plenty of green space for relaxation.

Parking is convenient, and the overall atmosphere is peaceful and welcoming. It’s a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city while still being close to everything. Whether you’re looking to exercise, have a picnic, or just unwind, Levi Carter Park offers a relaxing environment for all ages.

Highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area—it’s a hidden gem for...

It sure world be nice not to be harrassed by the Omaha Police minding your own business. Us, black folks been going there since forever and having the Stone Soul Picnics or Omaha Day celebrations. I've been apart of Carter Lake, IA for over 40+years ama the b's is overwhelming at times when many of us come to enjoy the park and to be harrassed by the grass patrol(police) is far ridiculous. I've been to the park throughout the week and none have been there at those times. Just Sundays now is their harassment territory these days. I even recorded when 2 police officers harrassed 2 young men for sitting on their car while driving, then saw 2 more young people sitting in their cars while driving who wasn't harrassed. If we need you, we'll call you if there's a problem, but to create unnecessary mayhem and then wonder why we prefer and support firefighters over the police department. Well there...

🌲 🌲 scenery and a Lake for 🚤and occasional water skiing. Full Playground but no washroom facilities, unless you rent out brick building w/long picnic tables located within. There are some spaced out standard iron grills scattered throughout the areas and light🎏 areas too. And spaces for attended 🐕 🐕 to roam w/pet owners. It has a 🏀 area, across from Playground and a small🏐 close to Lake w/low sand turf (that's has not been used). During 3 Seasons, litter/debris are maintained by visible groundskeeper service truck men. I've seen multiple of Parents/Guardians practice driving there. It can accommodate medium traffic drive through from Omaha to Carter Lake, Iowa airport🛫🛬 and most active during late afternoons, in...

Swim/Beach area. Nice size lake with some wildlife. Great place for families to; walk, nature observe, fish, play at playground, exercise, picnic areas, with spots to grill/bbq. Boat and jet ski docks. Plenty of parking lots throughout park. Trails to walk or ride. Lots of trees. Water kinda dirty, but over all good place for all ages.

Opened in 1908, the Levi Carter Park is a classic jewel in Omaha's parks system. The vast lake, beautiful picnic areas, waterfront and other amenities are wonderful. The pavilion there was built as a bathhouse by the WPA in the 1930s, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The wooden steps and pier look old and a bit unsafe. There was trash on the ground. Other than that, it is a peaceful summer location for fishing or a picnic.
