Nite Hawkes Cafe — Restaurant in Omaha

Not at all what I was expecting!

We were going from a client facility to their other... and on the way decided it was time to eat. Nite Hawkes hit high on reviews, and the food looked great.

First, it's practically in a residential area, standing on one of four corners... From outside, it has that 100yr old appearance with a gravel lot and space for rigs and utility trucks... Inside is one big room (reminded me of a roadside truck stop from my trip across the US). Mix of square tables and rectangular booths with windows to look out. The crowd was a mix of blue collar to white shirts, to a dozen retirees (which like have been eating here since childhood!) The menu has a great mix to offer. Classic burgers to salads to all-day breakfast!

Drinks come in a cafeteria style plastic cup! (Again expected).

The food, in the end, was great! (I swear I took a photo of my meal!) The service was over the top! Young and engaged. They were polite, prompt, and attentive!

Just got a to go order that was over $50 & got home & half of the order isn’t right we order take out 1-2 times a week & it seems like your service is going down. Do I need to open the food when we pick up to make sure it’s right? Last week we got to park to eat & the food was right but there were no napkins or eating utensils. Today we ordered 2 hamburgers & fries & 2double cheeseburgers & fries & those were ok. I was very specific about the rest of the order & that’s what was messed up. I ordered a large hash browns & gravy. It was a large hash brows but very little gravy Also ordered the country steak & eggs breakfast asked for no eggs extra hash browns with country gravy on the meat & hash browns. There was no gravy at all on it & I wanted white toast. Didn’t get any toast. I have never had a bad order before but this is ridiculous to pay that much & not get what I asked for Oh well I guess I just paid for my dogs to have breakfast. Ordered something that was supposed to come with sausage gravy. I didn’t realize it was missing. Then, the waitress comes to the table and says, “yours has the gravy with it, right?” Oh! So I looked and told her no. She says “okay”…you’d think she’s coming back with a side of gravy, so I waited a few minutes before taking another bite. No biggie.

Nope, didn’t bring gravy. Why’d she even ask then?? We were in a rush for the airport, so we didn’t have time to waste. I realize what part of town we were in, but comon lol.
