Cleawox Lake — Attraction in Oregon

I love Cleawox Lake! Even when I don’t camp at honeyman, I always prefer to hang out at Cleawox when visit Florence Oregon.

I always go to the dune side but I think the other side where the boats rental is much better. Bathroom is closer and plenty of picnic table with umbrella.

Parking is $5

Boat rental is $10 an hour for ANY kind of unmotorized boats. If you come with small children rent the paddle boats. The kids will have fun paddling and steering. If you only pay for an hour and end up going longer, they will just charge you for the extra times. You must sign waiver to rent the boat and if you pay with cash the machine doesn’t.t give you change. You can pay with card as well.

The lake itself is beautiful, but unfortunately, the experience was ruined by several off-leash dogs running freely and swimming right next to very small children. The dogs were barking loudly and even ran after kids who were playing nearby. Their owners were letting them shake off and wash their fur in the water just one meter away from where little kids were swimming. There were no park staff around to report this to, and it felt very unsafe and uncomfortable. I wish there were clear rules posted and someone to enforce them.
