Nice stay here. Was doing some recon on the timberline trail and campgrounds were full. 3 campsites. Free with PNW forest pass. Came back after a 25 mile run and was entertained by a baseball game in the parking lot. An extended family plays frequently on Saturday. All ages, and they have fun!

Great place to go sledding. It hadn’t snowed for a bit when we visited and the two large hills were pretty icy. The hills were huge and great fun for older kids and adults that were bored with all the little hills in the area. Large parking lot with plenty of parking.

Came to this park in spring (March 2019) when snow is kind of melting. There were no one just us. It’s a huge hill and lots of fun. Recommending to use the tube rather then plastic sliders. Easy to get injured.

What did I expect? That's the real question. Given my experiences at other sno-park locations on Mt Hood, I was cautiously optimistic. We had a group of us with kids aging from 2 to 15 and there was something for everyone. The main sledding hill was enough, if you hiked all the way to the top, to scare most anyone and injure nearly everyone. Thankfully we chose to jump in about 2/3 of the way up and it was perfect. There were a couple little hills that were just perfect for the littles. There's even a warming hut that was stocked with wood. And even the bathroom (a typical stinky, heavily used pit toilet, that looks more inviting on the outside) was better than none at all (but you'll prob need to byo TP). Overall I would recommend it! Oh, and bring your camp stove, heat up some water, and make some hot chocolate (and some cups). Your kids will...

Our favorite sledding area near Mt Hood. Small hill for kids, bigger hill for daredevils but can always take it half way for intermediate. Less crowded and can beat the ski traffic by going through Hood river. Some trails for snow shoeing and I believe snowmobile one too. Edit: Removing one star unfortunately due to the danger when people come down from the top of the big hill. They will get momentum and cross the middle area when people stand, cross the field and kids form the small hill land. In fact, with tubes, they will go up the small hill facing the big one. I have seen people getting hit by a kayak (yes a kayak) when it seemed they were in...

I love this little gem!! It was a beautiful drive to get there as well. We took I-84E to Hwy 35 (Hood River), and it was a bit rainy and grey until we got further into the gorge. When we arrived we were a little disappointed as the snowpack had mostly melted due to the temperature and the rain. There was enough snow/ice to use the smaller hills for the kiddos and the bigger hills for rhe daring adults. They had a great warming area, which we had firewood and hot beverages for all ages. It was very easy to lose a few hours up there. Well be back when there...
