Went top roping here. Majority of the hooks holds are broken and those that arent are in direct sunlight which causes the rocks to get very very hot. Getting to the top via a path makes it a 5-10 minute steep hike which is almost jn full sun view. Thankfully all damaged or broken hooks are spray painted red very obviously. I would not recommend trying to boulder here as everything is on a steep incline so even belaying can be sketchy at parts. It isnt too far from parking maybe a 10 ish minutes hike to the base if the rocks, but the paths along the wall base are again steep or overgrown and sketchy. Some pargs are fairly sandy which made slipping very easy. We did not find any water spiggots (apparently there should have been some somewhere) so bring more water. A lot of the cracks for crack climbing are full of webs and all the holds are broken. They might be some tree holds but we didnt being any equipment for them. Overall a decent climbing spot, would be so much better if most if the holds...
Read moreAnother great trailhead along the beautiful river! We like the Lava Island start a bit more because you can pay by card for your $5 day parking pass. There are vaulted toilets at the main parking area, which is near the actual Meadow, just down the road from the day...

Some parts of the trail are very narrow so I like to step aside and let others pass so I can keep.going on my own pace. It's neat when there is wind it weather. I like coming here through all the seasons to see how it changes. When the overflow is dry I know winter will...
