First off I must say that the Silverton Reservoir is one of favorite places on Earth. I frequent the lake by kayak: it is so peaceful at Silver creek that fills the lake.
I hiked the trail on 09/09/2021 and discovered that a landslide has completely removed the trail, likely sitting in the lake over 100 feet below, and it was clear that people still cross the slide and there are no posted signs officially closing the trail or even warning visitors that the trail is out.
