You guys need to understand that I don't use hyperbole on these reviews - I don't think that tool is helpful to potential consumers. So you understand that I mean it in as genuine a way as I can that I have a hard time envisioning me enjoying a wine tasting experience more than the bliss of White Rose Winery. The staff were all excellent (from Juan who poured for me, to Jeff who guided my tour of the Barrel room, to 'Dalgo with his epic espresso machine), the view is amazing, and the wines - you guys, the wines! Keep in mind that I am a certified wine geek, and so not everyone will enjoy these wines like I did, but for someone who loves Pinot Noir, is a Level 2 Sommelier, and has had some of the best wine this world has to offer, this is seriously special juice, in a class all its own. Unfortunately, the price tag shows as much, but that's about the only criticism of the gorgeous wine that White Rose is putting out (apart from serving sparkling water, which doesn't jive well in a tasting, imho). I still don't understand the quality and depth and beauty of what hit my palate when I tried the 2018 Extended Elevage. Absolutely mind boggling wine. I've never had "not-buyer's remorse" like I do for this place, where I walked away with only one bottle and am now wishing it was more. Please go here and make sure you get that...
Read moreWhite Rose Winery is one of the most beautiful wineries I’ve ever seen. I did a proposal there as a Portland photographer, and the experience felt truly magical. The drive takes you through tiny country roads with peaceful, scenic views—it’s like finding a hidden gem in Oregon. The winery is beautifully cared for, with every corner thoughtfully designed. There’s a grand, beautiful tree by the winery, and when you sit beneath it, you see the valley, the vineyards, and Mount Hood rising in the distance. It feels as though you’ve stepped into a French film. Upon the hill where soft winds sigh, Beneath the tree that brushes sky, The valley spreads, the vineyards glow, Mount Hood stands guard in quiet snow. In such a place, one’s heart takes flight, A dream, a film, a soul’s delight. This is a perfect place for photos—proposals, engagements, and weddings. As an Oregon photographer and Portland engagement photographer, I highly recommend it. If you’re searching for White Rose Winery proposal photos, Oregon winery engagement spots, or a Portland wedding photographer, this is a dream location. Read moreWithout any doubt - the wine was amazing!
We were 6ppl who came in for tasting and we wanted to share 3 flights. I am not sure who the man was who was serving us, but he was very knowledgeable and gave us interesting information.
But there comes the huge disappointment: He brought us only 3 glasses for 6 ppl. My friend asked about whether we were supposed to share one glass for two ppl and he confirmed. Seriously?? During Covid??
We then separately asked about having 3 additional glasses, if that will cost a few (!) dollars more, we would be happy to pay. The HUGE SURPRISE was that they billed us another flight (35 USD) for the additional 3 glasses. He did not tell us it is going to be that expensive, that's a no-go. So counting the tips we left, we paid around 45USD simply for using glasses. After having paid, it dawned on us that the bill was just too high so we asked about the fact that we have been charged 4 flights instead of 3 flights and his answer was just hilarious: this caused them additional work (?!) If I had known this, I would have washed these additional glasses myself. Very disappointing and very dishonest - despite...
