Absolutely beautiful and spacious enough for all sorts of sports and picnics to be had. The duck pond is beautiful and it's always a blast feeding families of ducks while relaxing.
That being said, one part of the park has to be adjusted for a perfect experience for everyone: the taller swing set. An attraction at this park has a set of swings that can (theoretically) spin around like a sort of carousel if all 4 swings were being used. That's all fine and convenient, but the swings are WAAAAY too low to the ground for that to happen. Believe it or not, there ARE people who are grown up but still want to swing on things like that, so to see that the children's playground swings are higher up than the bigger swings is kind of bizarre and counterproductive. Now, I guess since people are super sue-happy, that tall swing set could potentially lead to one flying off and injuring themselves, but with it that low to the ground, it encourages bigger people to swing on the sets for kids, which aren't built for their weight and can risk even worse injury. Raise the taller set up higher and just post disclosure signs around it. If someone's kid wants to swing, the playground set will work fine; don't make it where the set made for kids is better than the one made for bigger people.
Now, I was harsh with that last paragraph but I still think the park is amazing to go to, and thr ducks are a perfect cherry on top. I just feel that it would be a perfect park if some swings were more made to be used for the bigger...
Read moreBeautiful park that has lots of trees and paths for walking. Most paths are paved, including the one that goes all around the perimeter of the park, while others are gravel. There's a large expanse of grass that is great for dogs. There is a lovely flower garden during the growing seasons with low hedges and paths throughout.
There is a good size playground on the north end of the park. The playground has monkey bars, slides, and swings.
There is a pond for wild ducks and geese near to the playground, so be aware of that for children's safety. There are signs against feeding the wildlife, do head to another park if you want to feed ducks.
There are some pavilions with picnic tables on the north end of the park. They're are also picnic tables on the south end of the park, but they are not under any solid coverings.
There is a parking lot near the playground and flower garden which is accessible off Sandhill Drive to the west. The other parking lot is on the south end of the park.
I love coming to this park to walk, even in the winter months when it is less green. The paved paths have always been clear of snow when I've gone. My kids enjoy playing here, especially on the really tall spiral slide. We've come to play Pokemon...
Read moreNice, pretty well lit park with a few gyms and several pokéstops for you Pokémon Go players. The big swing no longer rotates, which is disappointing, but it's still fun to play on. Some of the swings in the middle of the park are missing or broken, and thus in need of replacement. The flower gardens are lovely to stroll through in the spring, summer, and fall. The covered pavilions are rather small, and the uncovered ones are medium sized. I'm unsure if they are available to reserve. There are a few drinking fountains scattered around the park. The bathrooms are usually clean and maintained. There are very few dog-cleanup stations around the park, but they do provide poop bags. The pond is full of ducks, and looks nice, but doesn't always smell so nice. The park itself is spacious, you could have several different groups playing games and sports all at the same time...
