Seaview Trail is one of the treasures of Tilden. It's a wide trail that starts out asphalt before turning to dirt. The trail is a bit steep at times, but never difficult. It follows the eastern side of Vollmer Peak and then heads right along the coastal ridge, offering stunning views east across the reservoirs and the valley to Mt. Diablo, as well as north towards San Pablo Bay and west towards the San Francisco Bay and beyond. You can take the trail all the way to Wildcat Canyon Road, but the real destination is about halfway along the trail, where you reach a spot with a few benches and a spectacular near-360 degree view. Read moreI hiked this train on the weekend, right after riding the stream train that's just less than a mile away. It has beautiful view. I went this place on May, so many flowers bloomed along the train, it was beautiful. You can see the Golden Gate view on one side, and than the Orinda Lake on the other side.
Also this train is very easy, even i used dress when I hiked (i didn't plan to hike, the idea of hiking just came spontaneously right after riding the steam train). Highly recommend to hike this place...
