Been coming here for 6 years. Used to be pretty good. They never have enough cashiers on. The lines go down into the isles when you are trying to cash out. I have had them close the line I was already waiting 10 mins in several times only to tell me I had to get in the back of the line at another register. About 25 percent of the the items don’t have their sku number in the point of sale system so every other customer has to wait while the cashier goes over to a desk to try and look up the price. You can’t maneuver your cart or flat bed through the store because they have pallets of product in the middle of the isles and fork lift operators and employees trying to restock the store during business hours. Why they don’t do this overnight so it’s out of the way of the customers and they aren’t in danger of have a pallet dropped on them or getting hit by a speeding fork lift I don’t understand. Seems like a HUGE insurance liability and extremely dangerous. They do have some nice employees but obviously the problem stems from the management and they are doing the best they can with what they’ve been given. I suppose when you are in a market where there is no competition you can provide bad service, waste your customers time and endanger their safety with no...
Read moreAs someone who spends over $100,000 a year at Restaurant Depot, I expect at least a functional shopping experience but every visit feels like a nightmare.
The layout is a mess: empty pallets are scattered everywhere, blocking aisles and walkways. Full pallets often cover shelves entirely, making it impossible to reach the items you need. They could easily move them to the side, but they don’t. Forklift drivers zoom around like they’re on a racetrack, and I’ve had multiple close calls. It feels unsafe.
Most of the staff look miserable and act like it too. The front manager clearly hates her job and shows it in every interaction. The produce manager? No better. Trying to find even 5 usable cases of onions is a joke 80% are rotten. When I brought it up, the response was, “There are 300 bags—don’t tell me you can’t find 5.” Sure, but how am I supposed to reach them when they’re buried at the top or bottom of an unstable stack?
The only helpful people are the two who assist with loading and collecting carts—kudos to them for keeping some professionalism alive.
It’s frustrating to see other customers struggling with the same issues. I honestly wish there was another supplier we could switch to. Until then, we’re stuck...
